Technologist
Job Description

Day in the life of a Technologist:

Your tasks will be varied but will include:

• Technology trouble shooting
• Personal technology shopping
• Personal training on basic applications including: Office, iLife etc
• Setting up home computers with peripherals
• Migrating data from old to new computers
• Setting up simple wired and wireless networks
• Connecting up living room technology, including TV’s DVD players, A/V receivers etc

Skills and attributes you should have:

• A deep understanding of Operating systems including Windows XP and MAC OSX.
• Can delicately identify the difference between a misguided user and an unhealthy computer.
• Deep knowledge of a wide range of devices including, printers and scanners, mobile/smart phones and the inter-connecting of these devices with other technology.
• Knowledge of home cinema technologies products from streaming music and video to media center computing.
• Exceptional customer facing skills, comfortably translating jargon into user-friendly language, developing a solid relationship with the customer.
• Always aware of the latest cutting edge technological developments across the range of technology.
• Willingness to travel wherever the customer needs you, this is usually within London, However its not unusual to have to get on a plane once in a while!

Consultant
Job Description

Deep understanding of business technology requirements, including the skills of a technologist plus the additional requirements:

Day in the life of a Consultant:

• Visiting our retail technology partners to work with the store and the client to develop a bespoke solution
• Configuring the business technology and managing technologists
• Working closely with the client and other parties, project managing complete technology installations for home and business

Skills and attributes you should have:

• Deep knowledge of servers and server operating system’s including Windows 2003, MAC OSX Server, Linux
• Configuring Firewalls, and Routers
• Telephone systems, VOIP and traditional PBXs
• Audio/Video/Control systems including, Crestron, Lutron, AMX etc
• Solution focused, being able to accurately understand a businesses need and develop a bespoke technology solution.
